To further foster an international academic atmosphere, enhance international students’ research and English academic writing abilities, and promote academic exchange between international and Chinese students, the School of Law will organize the English Essay Competition for International Students. Chinese students are also welcome to collaborate on submissions and participate in the competition.

为进一步营造良好的国际化学术氛围，提升法学院留学生的学术研究能力和英文论文写作水平，促进中外学生之间的学术交流，法学院拟面向全体留学生举办“留学生全英文论文竞赛”，也欢迎中国学生和留学生共同投稿参赛。

I. Submission Requirements

一、投稿要求

(1) The length of the paper should preferably be between 8,000 and 10,000 words. A footnote on the first page should indicate the author’s name, school, student ID number, and e-mail address. The manuscript should include the following components: title, abstract, keywords, main text, footnotes and references. There is no restriction on the specific theme of submissions. Any research paper in the law area is welcome.

(1) 论文字数以8000—10000字为宜。论文首页脚注需注明作者姓名、学院、学号及E-mail地址。论文内容应包括：标题、摘要、关键词、正文、脚注及参考文献。主题不限，法学领域的研究论文均可。

(2) Formatting requirements: The paper should be written in Times New Roman. The main text is recommended to use 12-point font with single line spacing. Citations and references are recommended to follow The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation（21st ed.）.

(2) 格式要求：论文应采用Times New Roman字体, 正文建议使用12号字体，单倍行距。引注体例建议参考The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation（21st ed.）。

(3) Authorship requirements: Submissions must be original and unpublished papers. This competition is open to international students. International students may submit papers individually. Joint papers co-authored by international students and Chinese students are also encouraged. 

(3) 撰稿要求：来稿须为未发表的原创论文。本竞赛面向留学生征稿，留学生可以单独投稿，并鼓励留学生与中国学生合作撰写论文。

(4) Submission method: Please submit the electronic version of the paper to the designated email address: bitlawessay@163.com. The subject line of the email should be titled: “English Essay Competition for International Students + Name + Student ID”.

(4) 提交方式：请将论文电子版发送至指定邮箱：bitlawessay@163.com。邮件标题命名为：“法学院留学生全英文论文竞赛+姓名+学号”。

三、论文评选

An expert review panel composed of faculty members from the School of Law will be invited to evaluate the submitted papers. A preliminary review will be conducted for all submissions, and shortlisted authors will participate in a final round in the form of an oral presentation. The final round is tentatively scheduled for mid- or late- May. In accordance with the principles of fairness, impartiality, and transparency, several First, Second, and Third Prizes will be awarded, and the School of Law will issue certificates to the winners.

本次论文竞赛将邀请法学院教师组成专家评审组，对投稿论文进行初评，并以论文答辩形式进行决赛，决赛时间暂定5月中下旬。竞赛将本着“公平、公正、公开”的原则，评选出一、二、三等奖若干名，学院将颁发获奖证书。
